Il y a « la vie en rose », « le défilé en rose », puis il y a « oser »!

Lors du défilé du 31 mai « Chapeaux et Pivoines », ces deux mots rose et oser, paradaient fièrement dans l’église Saint-Bernardin.

Plus de 80 chapeaux portés par trente-six mannequins faisaient tous honneur aux pivoines roses et on peut dire sans aucun doute que les membres du Cercle de Fermières Waterloo ont osé sortir de l’ordinaire en ce dimanche qui soulignait le 45e anniversaire de fondation du Cercle de Fermières Waterloo.

L’église bondée avait l’allure d’un jardin fleuri et la présence chaleureuse des élus municipaux de Waterloo, Saint-Joachim, Warden, même de Stukely-Sud a été remarquée. Les commentaires de chacun ont été grandement appréciés. Tous ont souhaité une longue continuité au cercle de Waterloo.

Madame Andréanne Larouche, députée fédérale du Bloc Québécois, ainsi que madame Marie Parent, présidente provinciale des Cercles de Fermières, nous ont fait également l’honneur de leur présence.

Applaudissements chaleureux et répétés, yeux rieurs, énergie débordante témoignaient de la réussite du projet qui se voulait festif et rassembleur!

Le sketch qui a suivi portant un message sur l’Abus fait aux aînés a recueilli des commentaires enthousiastes.

La traduction simultanée de l’allocution de bienvenue ainsi que celle du sketch ont été remarquées et appréciées!

Nous sommes heureuses que les efforts déployés afin de présenter ces beaux moments aient reçu un accueil cordial!

English Version

There is « La Vie en Rose » (seeing life through rose-coloured glasses), « Le défilé en Rose » (the rose-coloured fashion show) and there is « Oser » (to dare)!

You might have noticed that rose and oser are spelled with the same letters; they are known as anagrams.

On May 31st during the fashion show « Chapeaux et Pivoines », these two words, daring and rose or pink, were proudly on display at St. Bernardin Church.

With the theme of pink peonies in mind, over 80 hats were created and were worn by 36 models. Without a doubt the ordinary was tilted into the whimsical by the members to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Cercle de Fermières de Waterloo.

The packed church had the allure of a flower garden. Amongst those in attendance were elected officials from Waterloo, Warden, Shefford and Stukely-Sud, whose presence and kind words were greatly appreciated.

Well wishes for the continuation and longevity of the Cercle were pronounced by many of the speakers.

Andréanne Larouche, the Federal Deputy of the Bloc Québécois, and Mary Parent, the president of the Cercles de Fermières of Québec, also honoured us with their presence.

The warm applause, vibrant energy, capped with abundant smiles, spoke to the success of this event, whose desired goal was to unite and entertain with a festive celebration.

The fashion show was followed by a one-act play spotlighting elder abuse, which sparked enthusiasm amongst the audience.

Both the play and its introduction were simultaneously translated; this too was noted and appreciated.

We are pleased that the efforts well spent to share this pleasurable event were affectionately received by the audience!

A special thank you goes out to the numerous collaborators who, each in their individual way, contributed to the creation of this festive atmosphere.
